First Grade Feild Trip

Here is Garrett's first grade class, or at least most of them.
As room mom I had the chance to go on the field trip with them this year.

This was my little group that I was in charge of looking after.
Morgan, Mason, Garrett, Kylinn, and Oscar.

They were pretty good kids.

After the Living Planet Aquarium we went to the park for lunch and the rest of the families were able to join there for a picnic.

Man I love this little guy! What a fun 1st grade year he has had!

Garrett's 7th birthday

My little boy turned 7 .... like I have a 7 year old! what? why does that age make such a difference from 6? It's going by so fast. Well for his birthday dinner he really wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse (no really I didn't suggest it to him he picked it, I was happy with the choice ;)

The one thing he really really wanted was Skylanders Giants, since he doesn't usually ask for anything in particular we decided it was worth going for.

For his birthday party with his friends he wanted a Monster Truck party. Brad had surprised him earlier this year with a father/son night out to the Monster truck show and he loved it!

So the line up went like this: It was patterned after a monster truck show, where the kids would compete in turck events and awards would be handed out at the end of the party.

Each kid got to race their monster truck down the ramp in a race showdown.
(Brad made this ramp for the party, it turned out awesome! Way to go dad!)

The kids also competed in their own obstacle course, they got points for speed, and for preforming the special tricks without mistake.

They had a crusher challenge to see who had the most "smash" power on the piniata.

And they each colored, designed and named their own monster truck for the best of show part of the competition.

I think it went over pretty well.

Soccer

Garrett had a great spring season of USA soccer.
He has been improving with every season but I think during this one we really saw him working hard and getting even better.
He scored 3 goals this season! yay!

He even got to go to a Real Salt Lake game with another buddy from his team. They got to go onto the feild with a parade of kids who all played soccer. They anxiously waited to walk onto the feild.

Garret, his team mate and classmate Caleb and Caleb's sister Cambri.
Embrie was going to walk onto the field with them in her orange uniform but she got sick that day and we didn't dare have her hang out with the other kids.

But it was our first time at a professional soccer game and I think we'd give it two thumbs up. Lots of fun!

Embrie at 4!

Embrie tunred 4 yrs. old in February. What a joy this little girl is!

she is my super sweet helper, is always the first one to lend a hand when I ask for help.

she has a tender heart.

but she is also a ham, very dramatic in a 'just for fun' silly sort of way.

Her favorite color is pink, and she LOVES animals, especially dogs. She is saving her money for a pet.

She is so loving to her family and quick to give hugs and kisses. She is becoming very independant, more outgoing, so smart. Growing right up!
