Dad's will be boys

Boys will be boys, even when they're dads! These pictures tell the story they need no words.

Another kind of girls weekend

During the winter this year the grand-daughters (and their mothers) were invited to Grandma Sheri's house for a girls weekend. The boys have had their turn before but, the girls had never spent the night. It was so much fun to have some girl bonding time.
Here is how it went...

What party is complete without a highly sophisticated ladies tea party? Complete with dress ups!

some crafting of course!

taking our time waking up and enjoying some snuggles and hot cocoa

Sledding, 4-wheeler riding and feeding the horses with Grandpa Blaine (the only boy allowed at the all-girls weekend)

baking and decorating

We read stories and made Valentines for dads', brothers' and grandpas'!
and what sleep-over is complete without a movie night and treats?
Chocolate fountain yummm!

Can't wait to do it again!

Make-up party

That is what Embrie said she wanted for her 5th birthday bash. Embrie talked about inviting some of her boy friends, but with the theme being what it was we decided it would be an all girl party this time ha ha!
They had so much fun putting on their own makeup and dressing up. They came in pj's and brought their pillows. They decorated little makeup bags and played musical pillows. Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Let's go to the Movies!

On New Years Day we took the kids to the movie 'Frozen'. Bout' time right? since everyone in the world had seen and raved about it! The kids loved it and so did their parents ;) It was Maren's first time going to the big theater.

Annual Girls Get-Away!

St. George or BUST! that is what me and these awesome friends of mine are usually saying each January.
What better way to start of the new year of mommy-dom than to take a few days to refresh ourselves in preparation for the coming year? (I can't remember if this is the 3rd or 4th time.)
So with whoever we can gather we head down to St.George.
It was a relatively small group this time. I think we've had as many as 20 come in the past. But hey we had a blast!

We basically get to do whatever we want to do for 3 days!
We stopped at a little shop called Rocket Fizz and bought the 5 most disgusting flavors of soda we could find and brought them home for a "taste test". Man it feels good to act like a teenager sometimes. I don't think I'll ever be too old for it!

we ate out at some fun places. Shopped a little. Played games and watched movies. We even had time to work out lounge around.

and we have to stop a few times at Swig, of course :)

Forever young ladies, forever young!

December 2013

To finish up the year of 2013

Because I am so behind (and because during this time I sort of stopped using my old camera which had been left out in the rain and sort of got ruined) there isn't much in the way of pictures to tell the story of our December.
However I can say that we had a great year. We've been so blessed in our lives and can't be grateful enough.

Now let's see what happened in the year of 2014 shall we ?
NEXT!

once upon a time...

A sweet, wide eyed girl was wandering in the tall grass when she came upon a magical looking forest.

She was a curious, playful and happy little two year old.

In the middle of the woods was a table set for a party. A tea party to be exact.
