Mount your Brooms!

The annual Witches Tea took place again this October, of course.

The tables were set

the brew was concocted

eat if you dare

The summons was made, the witches heard ...

they gathered ...

pick your poison ...

listen to the tales of old ...

I am so glad that things worked out for the Tea Party this year. It is fun to dress up! The ladies were much more adventurous this year with their tea drinking. Some even ventured to try the mystery tea! Way to be brave girls!
I even liked the tea I picked this year!
It was set in my near- finished basement this year and the camera's did their job with the flash but I had it pretty dimly lit so use your imagination.

A witch born this close to Halloween is said to be especially wicked you know ....
(happy birthday Susie!)

and it turns out that is true ...

so you'd best beware!

A little witchiness in us all! Marge Simpson the witch and our costume winner!

Wicked Fun!

Halloween Half Marathon

My 2nd half marathon! Wow a sentence that I didn't think I would utter. But I am very glad that I did it. The week before the race was a very busy and stressful week for me and thus, I didn't get very good sleep or have time to eat regularly, so I thought that this was going to be a very scary race for me. But I believe that the Lord must've given me a miracle.

The race started up near the trail head for Mt. Timpanogos. I had never been up there before. But is was such a pretty canyon. So it was downhill for the first 5 miles. And I believe I have been spoiled by that and may never want to run another half that isn't. While I had several friends running I didn't have anyone to match my pace with and so I ran alone. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't have anyone to push me along, but I am pleased to say that I pushed myself! This was a really good race for me. It wasn't until the 11th mile that I started to feel drained (much better than feeling it at mile 6 like last time). I may have been running without a person that I knew around but I was never alone. It was a huge race and there was always another costume clad runner around. So it wasn't lonely. Some of the costumes were great! Of my favorites : the 1st prize costume winner was Forrest Gump - there was also Tom Cruise from Risky business- yes and I mean the guy was wearing a a button down shirt, underwear and sunglasses.
Almost everyone that I knew that was running got a personal best and the girls who were running their 1st half did better than they thought they would!
I beat my previous time by 11 minutes! my official time was 1:59:30. I am happy with that.

Here are the girls I started the race with!
Aubrey's mom, Me, Danielle (1st timer), Aubrey(1st timer), Amy, Nicole

My cousin's wives also ran, they are super awesome and were ahead of me by 10 and 5 mins. great job ladies!

My costume, which I picked because it would be easy to run in and because if I ended up being super slow I could say that I had warned everyone ahead of time ;)

Please don't mind the scary face in this picture, it was Halloween after all.

Trunk or Treat

Can the Callahan's really have more Halloween posts? YES! and this is not the end of it either! I told you it was a very very busy week for me! (more to come!)

Here are my little Cowboy and Indian!
I ventured once again to make their costumes (ok so only a vest for the cowboy) and this year they actually turned out pretty good. I figure it is the kid that makes the costume anyway right?

because Brad was working, which always happens when I sign up for a race, my mom, Grandma Sheri took the kids to trunk or treat! This was good because my neighborhood loves my mom anyway! The kids probably had more fun with her than they would with us.

This must be the dream of all kids!
Just look at all those cars and all that candy!

pretty creative decor

and Plinko!

Pumpkin Carving

This year's pumpkin carving took place on Halloween saturday and without dad because he was working. The kids were so excited! and we love our big, cool stemmed pumpkin!
for this year's pumpkin Garrett chose a mad face.

so dad's aren't the only ones who can carve! :)

Playgroup Party

I am so glad that my kids have great friends their own ages to play with. Here are most of the playgroup kids minus a few babies. They have so much fun together.

they decorated some pumpkins

and made ghosts out of suckers

and trick or treated to all the moms.

Preschool Party

My little cowboy! Isn't he cute! He absolutely loves school and his teacher, he was so excited for this day! She actually grew pumpkins in her backyard. The kids got to check on them and water them, then pick them and decorate them. She had someone come paint their faces for the party and of course decorate cupcakes, which as you can see he is a natural at!
