New Moon Madness

Yes I am one of "those" people . . . those crazy twilight women! But I am totally unashamed of it. This is the record of my New Moon night out with the girls:
My awesome friend Jena was able (like last year) to get tickets to a theater that was rented out for the midnight showing. This is very nice for me because I am the kind of person that doesn't like people standing too close in the check out at the grocery store and would not be going to a first showing of a movie if it meant standing in line for hours with strangers breathing down my neck. I like the books but I don't know if I like them that much, know what I mean? So we bought our tickets months ago. We had prearranged seats with our buddies. Virtually no wait at the movie theater. This is the way to go I tell you!
But what would a Twilight group movie night be without a pre-party???
The previously said "awesome" Jena also threw a party at her house a couple hours before heading to the show house. Below are some of the pictures we took of our fun girls night out. I mean even if you haven't read the books or care that much it is worth it to just have a night with the girls! So our group ranges from those who can be considered slightly obsessed (in a good way) to those who aren't big fans, or haven't got past the first book. But no matter what we know how to have a good time!

I know these all look like the same picture but they are each different, really.

Here are a few of us that were sitting in the same row at the theater.

Explaination: there was a t-shirt making party a week before ( I wasn't able to attend so I made my own shirt as well as a shirt for a friend you'll notice us wearing the same one) For the pre-party they had a t-shirt contest. This picture below is the shirt that I voted for modeled by the lovely Amy. She seriously had a moon made out of beads, a cut out of a really furry wolf, felt letters, and cut sleeves and beeds. It was so awesome! Totally cracked me up!

Some of the t-shirts in the contest.

The back of our shirts.

Here is the front. I hand painted these shirts (traced the front and freehanded the back) I have to say that uh . . .ya next time totally going with the iron on. That would have taken me much less time and I could've done more. But we won a prize!

Jena (dressed as Jane) the woman of the hour! Thanks for the fun night, it was a blast!

Kalvin is Back!!!!!

Kalvin came home from his mission in Barcelona, Spain on November 18th! I have to say that I am so proud of him. He has always been such a great person and an example to me. If possible he has improved since going on a mission. I have witnessed (through letters) how much he has come to love everyone and really be a charitable and Christ-like person. Our family is better off because of his example of sacrifice and service.
About Kalvin: He has also changed in stature. He has grown and inch and if possible lost 16 lbs. But he looks great. His voice sounds different but not in the way that you might think. He doesn't have a spanish accent. This he says is due to the fact that he always has an American companion. He had no problem with telling us that he feels weird to be back. LOL The thing he says he misses the most right now is the Spanish Language. He wishes we could all speak it I think if we could that is the only way he would talk. He had trouble learning it at first but last night he was begging his nephews to give him any word and he would tell them what it was in Spanish. However, he has not lost his sense of humor which unfortunately for me means that he and Jared lost no time getting back to making fun of me. He wasn't to enthused about coming home but we are all glad to have him back! And he has missed two years of holidays but luckily he is back in time for all of them this time. :)
As you can see there was quite a crowd there to greet him at the airport. These are the only images that I got on camera before the batteries died. (dang!) Oh well.

Crawling

Just as a side note: baby girl has a shoe fettish. She will go after any shoe anywhere! kinda gross sometimes.
BTW please ignore the baby talk on my part :P

Baby girl turns 9 mo

Took her to the doc yesterday. Healthy, wealthy and wise! The princess of the house is a whopping 21 lbs. 11 oz. & 27 in. long. Not only a chub but she is tall too! Her personality developes more every day! She loves her daddy and is always excited for him to be home. She also recently started saying "mama" finally, but she still doesn't say it often. She likes brother and giggles at him as long as he is not beating her up. One of these days she is going to learn to hold her own. She has been close to cralwing for almost 2 months and finally on the 10th (one day after the 9 mo mark) she figured it out. Next I will include a video I took of that event. Here are a few random pictures from this month.
I ask you, Who wouldn't fall in love with that smile and those cheeks?
She still doesn't put toys in her mouth (maybe why she doesn't get sick) but if it is made of cloth she is all over it!

First sucker for Halloween. Yum!

We lowered her crib just in time. She was beginning to sit up and pull onto her knees. She loves playing peek-a-boo with Garrett and he loves it too.

The book " I love you Forever" always chokes me up.
But really look she is almost the size of Garrett! He is only 30lbs and not too tall. I guess we've got both ends of the spectrum covered!

I'm so grateful to be their mommy!

Imagine

Helping Garrett build a fort in the living room reminded me of when I was a kid. My brothers and I were very imaginative and played pretend all the time. I think it makes for a creative mind. I hope that my kids learn to love using their imagination.
As Garrett gets older he is pretending a lot of fun things. It is so cute and fun!

Halloween again

Now this is our actual Halloween day, which means that you won't see any more Halloween stuff from us for another year! We started our day out not quite as I had planned since Brad had to work (2 hrs away) and then while at work got delayed. We started our night out trick or treating without him with some of Garrett's friends in the neighborhood. This is something we didn't plan on doing but now I am so very glad that we did.

These three sat on our porch for the same picture last year! Last year they needed more coaching this year they are veterans! They L-O-V-E-D it!

Embrie as usual along for the ride in her stroller.

After meeting up with Brad finally we headed down to Ogden to spend time with the family. This is a holiday that we haven't spent with this side since being married. So it was a lot of travelling for Brad but it was fun. Here we are with our little spooks at Papa & GG's house. GG, as far back as I can remember has always made homemade chilli, clam chowder and breadsticks on Halloween night. Mmmmm.

Jared, Jessica, Jaxon and Jerzee.

All the kids in costume with Grandma Sheri, also in costume! The kids thought that was fun.
After dinner Grandma took Garrett and Jaxon out trick or treating. Yay more candy!
What a tough little Spiderman! Jaxon is such a handsom big boy!
Our little Jerzee girl had moved right on to walking. She toddles everywhere now! What a cutie!

Painting Pumpkins

This year Halloween snuck (if thats a word) up on us. We decided to paint pumpkins instead of carve. I'm usually all for carving (of course I am since Brad actually does the carving part). But Garrett really loved that he got to participate more this year and he did two of his very own pumpkins and helped me with Embrie's. We did some with brushes and some with our fingers. It worked out pretty well. I can still scoop them out and harvest seeds if I want.
