Poor sick kids

(this is the way I censor ok don't make fun, it gets the job done)

What a week! Garrett started the week by coughing so hard he threw up in bed twice.
I've been sick and then Embire too. She even threw up in Walmart, right after Garrett cut his finger and started bleeding all over. :)
Embrie has been pretty healthy most of the time and an easier sick baby than Garrett used to be. But this time she hit the mother load. Started with a cough, then a fever, then both of her eyes got really red and gooey, then she got hives. I've never really had any experience with hives before. And really benadryl cleared them up ok most of the time. Turns out she had a yucky virus (obviously) and a double ear infection which spread to an eye infection. Nice huh? Well she was a pretty good sport.

Random fun for the kids

From a warmer place than here . . .

My Auntie Keri and her family came from California to visit Utah for Christmas this year. I am glad that we got to spend a little time with them. We sure do miss them!

Keri & Mark

Embrie got a fun hippo pillow from Aunt Debbi and Garrett got a tent with a tunnel.

Now because I forgot my camera that night I am stealing these pictures, and actually because my brothers didn't see fit to tell me the night that they went over to visit I wasn't even there this particular night, but I never miss an opportunity to show off the fact that my family is a bunch of weirdos.
However, look at these two handsome young men with my aunt Keri
Kalvin & Jared

See what I mean? If you get the Watson's together and then try to steal a snapshot this is what you get (You see even my Aunt Debbi, they're all weird, except me of course, I am totally normal. ;)

2011 Resolutions

lets just get straight to the point shall we???

1. Temple attendance once a month (12 times a year up 6 from last year since that goal was
successful)

2. One date with Brad a month (this will probably be the hardest one)

3. Get back on the wagon of watching what I spend (better get used to checking the grocery
adds again.)

4. Finish that basement by March (we are soooo close!)

Pass or Fail ?

Review of last year's goals?

One my list:
1st run a 5k *Check ( I ran 4)

2nd run 1/2 marathon *check ( I ran 2, plus a 10k must've caught that running bug I guess)

3rd attend the temple once every other month * Check ( well sort of I did miss a month or two
but I made up for it by going twice in a row etc. I made it 6 times which I think counts as the same)

4th spend more quality time with my children -- hmm well since I didn't set a specific goal
it is hard to judge. I guess this is something
that I can always improve on. I am sure that
did a little better though.

5th go on more dates with the husband - well that didn't happen, in fact I think we tied our
record for last year meaning 2, that is lousy I think
I will have to re-goal that one.

Merry Chistmas

Christmas morning at the Callahan house . . .

I think that everyone was excited about the gifts that Santa brought.

Embrie was very excited about the oranges that Santa left in our stockings, she was excited about this last year too and tried to eat the orange peel and all, at least this time she waited until breakfast.

Christmas afternoon we gathered at papa & gg's house for some cousin time and more gift opening and games for the adults.

Of course I am not convinced that my little brother should be allowed at the adult table, he still likes the boxes more than the gifts ;)

Christmas Eve

We've begun that stage of our lives when we'll be having Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at home. So this year I wanted to fill our Christmas Eve with fun things to do so that although we were away from family we'd still love the day and enjoy spending quality time together.

we would've gone sledding but due to the lack of snow . . .

We made Christmas cookies for Santa

then for the 1st time since we've been married WE bought the Christmas jammies for ourselves and the kids.

I also made a nice Ham dinner, we had family home evening watching the birth of Christ movie, set out cookies and eggnog for Santa.
And placed the baby Jesus in his manger of hay (hay that we've been putting in the manger each night before Christmas).
