Apple Pickin'

We went to Farnsworth Farms for the first time with our playgroup (Garrett's original playgroup). They have a "pick it yourself" apple and peach orchard and vegetable garden. And most of all an apple cider mill. We were able to go for a little tour of the place and see the cider mill and pick some apples. I would've liked to pick peaches but I think we'll have to go back for that another time.

picking apples

Maren slept through the whole experience, covering her eyes when we tried to wake her up.

Still sleeping

stretching a little

This may be sad to admit but, my kids have never eaten an apple whole like you see here. Since they were babies and I cut them up and pealed them they've never wanted them any other way.
I am proud to say that they both ate a whole apple skins and all! And Garrett, who will eat apples but they aren't his favorite exclaimed, " Mom I love these apples, they are way better than at the store. Can I have another one?"
Wow!

This will likely be Garrett's last year participating full time in his playgroup. Next year he will be in school all day, where his friends will be starting kindergarten. We've had so much fun with this group of friends. Kids, moms and families have been growing together. Even if we don't do playgroup forever I know we've all made some life long friends!

Trip to Granpa's & Grandma's

I forgot my camera for this trip, but we went down to Price to see my nephew's and niece (triplets) be baptized. It was a great occasion we are very proud of them.

While we were there Grandma Peggy had some really fun things for the kids to do. 8 of the grandkids (the other 2 being just babies) decorated some craft pumpkins.

Grandpa and grandma also grew pumpkins this year. The kids all drew numbers from a bucket and then went outside to find their number on a pumpkin! Then they got to bring them home. Garrett got a Halloween shirt and Embrie got a skirt and wings to dress up in.

They played with the cousins and had ice cream sundae's. Lots of fun!

Boy's Weekend With Grandma

As I mentioned before, Garrett and his cousin Jaxon recently had a boys' weekend with Grandma Sheri. Here is a summary of the fun things they did.

First, meet Petey and Patches.

Petey, the one in the gold, is officially Garrett's (and Embrie's) cat that lives with Grandma. (Patches is Jaxon's and Jerzee's)

Garrett has grown very attached to this cat. He apparently wanted to play with, feed, haul him around everywhere while he was at grandma's, and he has been talking about him since he got home too.

Now who doesn't need a creek going through their backyard right? This was another favorite pass time. Throwing rocks, wading, hauling logs out of the creek.

Now this is something I need at my house and I think you'll agree! A MAGIC TREE. One morning they woke up and the tree outside grew a ton of, not fruit, but prizes! Candy, drinks, toys you name it!

Then they made a house out of news paper!

And they got to sleep in it!

They also got to roast marshmallows, and sleep in a tent on a bed and of course play with each other and grandma. Now I don't know about you but that sounds like a pretty fun vacation!
Thanks Grandma!

Bewitching Season

It's October!

lots of fun things in store for the Halloween season!

While he was gone

A week or two ago Grandma Sheri invited Garrett and his cousin Jaxon up for a "boy's weekend with Grandma". He got to go stay for the weekend. He did a lot of fun things and enjoyed every minute. I will hopefully get some pictures from my mom so that I can tell his side of the story. But what did the other 4 of us do while he was gone? Well . . . things were a lot more quiet around here for some reason *wink wink* Embrie enjoyed getting a little bit more attention than I think she has been used to.

One morning after she woke up but Maren was still sleeping, daddy took Embrie down stairs and got her breakfast. When Maren had woke up and finished her breakfast we went to find out what everyone else was doing.
Daddy was in the basement with Embrie having a tea party! Just little things like this made Embrie's day. (Especially when she is such a daddy's girl right now.) I was able to spend more time playing with her too. She and Maren and I had gone for a walk together and looked at all kinds of flowers too.

The morning, of "the tea party" Embrie also wanted to spend some time playing with Maren as you can see from these pictures.

Uh ... mom are you sure this is safe?

trying to get a shot of a smile is tough sometimes. here is half of one.

Peaceful morning.
