Lagoon

Well we went to Lagoon a week ago with some of our family. It was a fun time, but all I can say is thank you Jerry Signer for giving us 2 free tickets when we bought our car because otherwise we wouldn't have gone. Did you know it is a flipping $42 for adult all day passes??? I about have a heart attack just typing that! It cost $23 for Garrett to get in so luckily that was all we had to spend besides food we brought in. If I would have wanted to put Embrie on a ride, which I didn't, it would have cost more for that too. Ridiculous! Maybe I am just majorly cheap or I am not used to having money to spend I don't know, but yeah . . . anyway . . . that will be the end of that little out burst.

I posted a lot of pictures of the kids on rides so just bare with me. They actually had a lot of fun and there are some new rides for kids since I have been there last (6 yrs. ago).

What a ham!

Embrie is just chillin, poor baby too small for the rides yet, but luckily she was good most of the day. She had one outburst of fit that lasted about 45 mins and then she was good.

Cousin A and her daddy Eric.

Cousin A and her mommy Melissa.

This one is like a mini of the rocket ride. It was so funny every time it dropped us Garrett would laugh and say " that scared me!" - "that scared me again!"

the classic Bulgy the Whale

These two cousins love each other! It is a good thing too because they spent the whole day together!

Bubble Bath

A good idea I got from a friend and neighbor about letting your kids blow bubbles in the bath tub. Garrett had a great time with it. The water even made it so that he could catch the bubbles in his hand. Plus he can blow them himself without me worrying about him spilling them.

Preschool

Man I am posting a lot lately. I warned you a while ago this would happen! Watch out! Randi has a blog! Its a lot like talking too much, posting too much ect.
I wanted to put up a few pictures of Garrett's first day of preschool. He was so excited. When I went to get him he ran out and gave me a big hug and showed me the things in his backpack. He told me most of everything he did, but as he shared it with other people like daddy and grandma I found out a few more things about his day. (ha! more like two hours! I'm almost acting like this is kindergarten or something! I can only imagine how it will be in a couple years!) Anyway I am glad that he loved it and that he is excited to go each time. I hope that he continues to enjoy learning. ps. he won't simply smile for the camera he has to make some weird face or look away.

Here is a picture of his first homework asignment. This was before his first day.

Last Hurrah!

We had one final day at the beach before the end of summer. Apparently everyone else was thinking the same thing on Labor Day because it was crowded. Brad actually got to come with us for the first and last time this year. That is a good thing because Daddy makes better sand castles than mommy, especially when mommy has a baby to watch also. Maybe could've done more if not for the beach theives (other kids stealing our toys, but no matter). I think Garrett was just glad daddy was there to play.

What goes up must come down. Especially true to boys. They love destroying things.

Embrie didn't fuss the entire time, she was having fun too!

Brother and sister swinging together.

Embrie's first time on a swing at the playground. She loved it!

It was definately a fun day.

Not-So-Quiet Time

Well, everyday we have what I call "quiet time". It is the new name for "nap-time" since a real nap became a thing of the past quite some time ago. Except on rare occasions when something magical happens in my house and a nap actually happens. I don't know what causes these usually un-heard of moments but I love it.
I usually put Garrett in his room for a bit of quiet time first and then shortly after I put Embrie down for her nap. I've told Garrett that he needs to use his whisper voice and not kick the walls or jump off his bed ect. because lets face it, quiet time really isn't that quiet with a 3 year old boy. (At least not with my 3 year old boy.) Now Embrie's room is right next door and that is a nap that I insist has to happen so Garrett usually needs a couple reminders to keep it down before his quiet time is up (if the magical sleepy fairy doesn't visit him).
A couple of days ago I had just put Embrie down and I was visiting Garrett's room for one of these "reminders" about being quiet because I could hear some thumps going on. I expected to come in and let him know I meant business and this is what I saw:

Garrett says "Look mom we're wearing hats!" Meaning of course, if you can't tell, Lightening McQueen (the one in the fire hat). I couldn't go on I just smiled and backed out of the door. I then retrieved my camera because this was something Ididn't want to forget it was too cute. When I came back he said "I'm wearing a cowboy hat and Lightening is wearing a fire hat. He is a fire car! and we're having a party!" I laughed and snapped a picture (now wishing I would have put his shorts back on before quiet time). Then I gently helped him get everything off his bed and told him he needed to be more quiet. After this funny turn of events the magic happened and he actually napped!

7 Months Old

Today Embrie is 7 months old. I can't believe how fast time flies by! These are just a couple of pictures that I have taken of her recently. She is such a cutie (or course I am biased but that is beyond the point.)
Anyone who sees this chubby, sweet, flirty, stubborn dramatic yet tough little girl can't help but fall in love with her!
Wanted to take some pictures in her pretty yellow dress before she grows out of it.

She loves to jump!
Don't you just want to pat those cheeks!?!

The day she learned to drink from a sippy! 2 days ago actually.

Around the Sandbox

We all are kept laughing by the funny things that kids say. Whether it is just off their cuff or it is something we had no idea they'd been paying attention to. Here are a few of Garrett's more recent ones:

* (while playing with his cars) "Let's go to that store on Bangerter." (we live near Bangerter Highway)

*(While coming out of his preschool openhouse) Ok I went ot preschool now lets go to Kindergarten!

*(At Embrie's dr. appt. while sitting next to her) "Look mom I can see her body." (he pats her belly, which is chubby) "Look mom! She has a baby in her belly!"

*Me: "I'm cleaning the house, don't you like it when the house is clean?" Garrett: "No, I like it when it's a disaster."
